Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.
Nine months is one of those awkward stages, like 60 days. At 30 days, I was a kid with a new toy, the novelty alone kept me sober. At 90 days, I was a swaggering old-timer. But at 60 days, I was a freeking deer in the headlights. LOL
At nine months, it seemed I'd been sober forever, the novelty was LONG gone, it was getting old, so where the hell was my cake???
For me, I guess it was at some point after a year, that the months just started racking up incredibly fast. I hardly ever thought about drinking. Recovery just started to flow. When I would get an urge to drink, I didn't fear it any more, I accepted it as a signal that there was something for me to add to my program, a positive something to make it even better.
It doesn't just get easier, it gets INCREDIBLE! Life starts dropping amazing good things in your lap that you never could imagine before.
I see in your profile you're in AA -- read pp. 83-84 in the Big Book. (Here's a link: http://www.aa-uk.org.uk/publications/Promises.htm ) The Promises WILL come true for you!
God bless you!
