We can pray for you, but it won't help. You have to do alot of the work yourself.
If you really believe in your HP, do you think he is just gonna grant you a miracle??

Have you gone to an AA meeting...I know it is so hard when you have some one that drinks in the house... My hubby was doing the same thing... And I finaly told him that I needed his help.... We had a really good heart to heart and he has been really supportive of my effort to stop drinking...Maybe if you sit down and have a talk with him...Im praying for ya...

ugh! what a hard situation. I have no idea what I would do, at this point I would probably have to leave if my husband was a problem drinker-could not resist-but no way am I going to suggest that to you, that is a personal issue. Like gnr said, you have gotta put those prayers into action. What that action is can be in many forms-just make it toward the path of recovery. Sending good thoughts your way anyhow.....

They say God protects Fools and drunks. It's not in the bible I don't think, but it makes sense to me that God could and would if sought (or really, whether sought or nought).

I will pray for you but you need to take action and really want to change things in your life. it is not easy but well worthi it really. you need to goto meetings and maybe even get a sponsor and work the steps. that is what works for me and maybe you could try them yourself.

taking action is important. my sponsor says i can lock myself in my bathroom (i did that due to fear) and wish for a hotdog but God wasn't going to shoot a weiney through the keyhole for me. i must meet him halfway. i am praying for you, my friend. devon

I don't know if you realize this or not, but if you drink regularly, you shouldn't be taking Tylenol, too. If you need some type of pain reliever, take ibuprofen. If you keep taking Tylenol, you are going to cause damage to your liver.

good point about the tylenol... we have someone in my homegroup who is on the liver transplant list due to tylenol toxicity. what is surprising is that he has been sober for many years but still had a habit of taking 12 or more tylenol a day. devon

Hi, I'm sorry to hear you relapsed.

I spent yesterday with a friend who relapsed. He had 10 months and went to a slippery place and had a beer. He thought because he was there for his granson he could say no to a beer.

My friend turned his relapse around and I am so proud of him! I am a real alcoholic and I know that it can happen to any of us.

He got up and got on the phone and told on himself. he went to a meeting and picked up a 24 hour chip and asked for help. He spent a couple hours talking to oldtimers.

I told him he did all the right things. He is going to attempt a 90 in 90 as his job permits.

He is like me and looking at death if he stays out so he took it very seriously.

When you lose don't lose the lesson! I asked him how he felt about his ability to hang out with drinkers today and he said, NO WAY! I can't be around active people. Amen! He learned a big lesson.

I hope you get to a meeting and ask for help and thanks for sharing. It helps to keep me sober another day.

Have you been to any AA meetings? Have you got an AA sponsor? Have you family or friends who might support you on this and put you up for a while to take you out of the drinking and gambling environment? That is just a few ideas off the top of my head. There really is a lot you can do to get a good start on the road to recovery. Your desire to stop drinking should overwhelm everything and be the most important thing in your life to enable you to start accumulating some quality sobriety. It takes some work but the paybacks are enormous. A few prayers won't do much. God helps those who help themselves.

Honey you can't fight alcoholism with resolve! No matter how great it seems at the time. Those carvings? That is the mental obsession that we talk of in AA. Have you thought about trying AA??
Well, I don't know about God not liking drunkards, he may not like drunkards, because we are killing ourselves, but I believe that he loves you unconditionally, so you ain't going to hell via death but you could sure end up there whilst still alive!
