Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.
I came here to read your (and others') posts.
Thanks for sharing, it helps!
Now I'm enjoying the posts I'm reading, I'll go to a meeting, interact with others in recovery, and hopefully continue to keep the focus on where I am and what I'm doing each moment.
Kinda simple, right???

I've read some posts here, I've spoken with my mom, both of my sisters, my best friend and my daughter. All people that hold me accountable and love me.
I was thinking this past weekend at a Memorial Day party that I wish I could drink like regular people.....but I believe with all my heart that I can't do it, so it is just a passing fantasy. It is what it is and I accept that. :)
Tonight I'm going to call my old sponsor and thank him, then I'm going to call a guy and ask him to work with me.
So far so good. Path chosen.
I am going to bikram in 1/2 an hour. Its 90 ms of moving medidation. It helps keep me sober and feeling really really good, and humble.
I hugged my kids. I thanked god.
Hugs,
Dennis
Rob - good to hear.
I went to a GREAT meeting. Didn't get to share, but heard some really honest tear jerking reminders of how blessed I am and grateful I am for where I am.
I sat and pondered how I don't have a good reason to drink (Why do you drink? post) and how I am winning the "don't want it bad enough" game by taking action (this post). Both posts I made to try to get through to newcomers.
I went to the club and bought the AA Big Book and Living Sober for a friend who is scraping bottom. I also pondered what I might say if given the opportunity to speak with either him or his wife.
It was a good day.
PS IT WILL NOT BE EASY, BUT IT IS WORTH IT!
MAY THE GOD OF YOUR UNDERSTANDING TAKE CARE OF US ALL!
