Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

I'm new here, fiercely independent type A that was rationalizing destructive behavior. My wife of almost 40 years didn't nag me, seems she had similar drinking issues, she just looked at me one morning and said, "You know you're killing yourself, right?" Really could not get around that question, so it's been a little more than 3 weeks since my last drink. Rather than focus on the negative:
- gee, no more hang overs
- very productive lately - home repairs, car stuff, work
- I'm banking what I've been spending on "beverages"
- no more headaches
- losing weight, more energy
- sleeping better
Weird-ed my wife out, I've had very, very little withdrawal symptoms, maybe they are coming, but i'll take no symptoms as a blessing. I agree - God cares for us and wants the best.
