Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

Then I thought that humility was about never saying anything good about myself because that is arrogance and not humility.
I have come to the idea that humility is about having an honest idea about myself and reflecting that in the way that I am. I dont have to make myself out to be better than I am or worse than I am. The way I portray myself doenst have to be warped to have an effect on what other people think of me. i can be honest about what I do well and what i dont, about what i am good at and what i am not.
For me humility is another of those things that is to do with balance. Sometimes I have more humility than at other times. Never am I perfect.
Of course, even when I'm trying my damndest not to try too hard to be humble, my heart knows what it's up to.
I liked what a member shared here at DS. Remaining teachable.
from a song not my life!!! LOL
"I can't wait to look in the mirror
'cos I get better looking each day
to know me is to love me"
LOL
Agree with Reply #1 wholeheartedly. About discovering just who the hell I am and living my life as such. Not being "better than" or "less than". Just being a pebble of sand among many, and being OK with THAT.
I also agree with nicky in that no one lives (at least I don't) in a constant state of humility. A balancing act for sure.
As far as humility/submission goes, I give all the credit to the God that gave me my life back.
Its like when someone does something really nice & kind, then spends the next month telling everyone what they did because they are so nice & kind! Classic :)
