Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.
The Big Book of AA says "What seemed at first to be a flimsy reed has proved to be the loving and powerful hand of God."
This is the truth of my own experience.
When I live in God's will, my life has a flow to it. I'm at ease.
When I'm into my will, I'm at dis-ease. Easy to anger and prone to irritability. Totally self centered. That's why it's such a gift to have people around me that know me who aren't afraid to ask the tough questions.
The challenge is two-fold. 1) We have to let go of our egoic, fear driven intentions, and 2) We have to seek meaning and self-actualization through humanity. We accomplish these two things by "letting go" and taking "action". The AA 12-steps are one structured set of guidelines to get there for people, like myself, who have failed to structure their own method.
Where is the absence of self will in the solution?
My brain doesn't know what to do with itself at the moment.
LOL!
Might want to call me in a day or two just to be sure I didn't get sidetracked by a gypsy on the side of the road in south IN wanting to debate the meaning of life.
I am driving myself crazy.
