Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

Ya I fell but mostly on asphalt or gravel roads lol !! Or the drunk tank!! So yes those metal chairs and smoked filled rooms at meetings much easy to fall into ,than picking gravel otta my elbows The next day. Or finding someone to bail me out for the ninth time that year:)

It'smylife, Wow, you were a rowdy one! I know a woman in AA that was like you except she slipped off her cuffs and pissed on top of the cruiser! She has been sober for awhile and it's part of her story.
Happy, I used to fall upstairs as well as down but falling up hurt a lot less. :)-
am a active drinker not sure if i have a prob.
This makes me afraid to go to the doctor's now but I can see why he said that . There is alot of stress on those people.
There are two doctor's in my AA home group. These are the ones I know of. LOL!
This must be a funny. I am trying to quit smoking again today. I really ought to stay away from DS when I do this.
Only difference between me and my drunk non-alkie friends is they decided one day to stop while I could not. We all fell a LOT onto floors and streets, into curbs, chairs, beds, walls, up stairs, over balconies, off roofs, into pools, out of cars... alkie or not.
Is "a drink" just someone who GETS drunk even if not an alcoholic?
Ive had my fair share of both..
Now I spend only a small amount of energy each day thinking of myself. A drunk spends all day thinking of the next drink, where and how to get it. A drunk will say "I'm not much but I'm all I think about!"
When I was a drunk I was lost in the 4 C's- Compare, Criticize, Compete and Condemn. I was totally critical of others. Thank you God for Removing the 4 C's and keep me from being a critical person.
-A critic is a person who goes down into the battlefield after the battle has been fought and shoots the survivors!
Thank You God for all that you have given me, for all that you have taken away from me and for all you have left me with. May I use it wisely.
Today is my day off and I Think I'll do something good for my sobriety like go to a meeting and play with my puppies and get started on making a wreath for my door. These are things I would have hated doing when I was a drunk but now it's the simple things that make me the happiest.
