Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

I didn't have the resources then that are available now. I agree that Alanon is a good start.
I grew up with a codependent (Mom ) and a raging Functioning Alcoholic! Once I got sober Not that was the key factor...the key factor was the personality traits that were helped to create through Trauma ,, neglect aand mixed messages I carried through into Adulthood. Those thingst I hought would keep me safe and insulated me from the truth of the damage done butt that only created confusion and a adaptive or conditioned state of how my personality dealt with others. I d either fight or flight emotionally which only created more confusion about Who My authentic self really was. Through therapy , AAs steps , spiritual practice and Acoa Ive began to see the whole picture and how the dots connect that begin to help me let go of that adaptive self created and find out on a emotional who I really was without all of the defense mechanism and find my true self and begin to heal:)))) A chameleon only changes colors to hide or blend in unless the threat is really close at hand and then they ddefend who they think they are by all means necessary nooooooooooooooooooo:))))
