Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.
So here we go , I was sober not long but long enough to smell the roses...thought about a 1 week detox center but then decided will power will prevail and it did. Then Jan 3 2018 ..i lost my cousin to a violent horrific murder committed by her husband for insurance money..i got a bottle of whiite wine that led to 2 and started binging just to numb and heal...as bad as it was Jan 5 2018...my best friend that i talk to 10 times a day and went to dinner with every week was found dead alone in her apartment..Autopsy still doesnt know exactly why...that led to more drinking and not eating by january 7 i went to the er totally lithargic and confused , bood pressure through the roof ..they gave me 3 bags of iv and a vitamin drip...i was released to 1mg of ativan but my doc said break it into half , morning and night for withdrawls..but now my blood pressure wont stabalize and these withdrawl symptoms are horrible..if i ever knew this could happen from drinking..they should put it on labels..my muscles are tense , im not sleeping well..has anyne here gone through withdrawls ? how did you cope ? trying to get to the other sde of the rainbow.

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

I was recently separated from my wife of 33 years and it's complicated. Anyway I rented a room about 15 minutes away and I see my kids about once a week. I see the people who own the house I live in once in a while but other than that I stay in my room where I do my cooking, wash dishes in the shower, read, color, and sleep. I get out at least once a day. I grocery shop and I attend 2 meetings...

If you don't feel you can handle the withdrawals, then you can do like I did and check in to a hospital detox. If you live in the USA, the fastest way to get into one is through the emergency room. I just went in there and told them what I wanted but I was drunk at the time so they gave me IV fluids to lower the amount of alcohol in my blood so that I caould be admitted. They gave me librium or lithium, can't remember the name, which calmed me right down. No more shakes after that. I had a full physical exam by an addiction trained doctor and counseling to turn my life around for the better, like therapy to treat my underlying issues and heal the pain that was continually triggering my addiction.
I could never quit on will power alone and I don't know many people who could quit. My suggestion is to start with a safe hospital detox for a few days and they will direct you, the rest of the way. There are all kinds of people willing to help but you can't be afraid to ask!
We will keep you in our thoughts and prayers.
God Bless
