Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

Not only in what came out of my mouth but the thoughts I had or didn't have. For me conscious living is where I found my short-comings and this is gift to myself and others. It is so important for me to pause, before I speaking.........pause before and sometimes wait before making any decsion. (sp?) or taking any action.
common sense becomes uncommon sense.....LOL
For me the steps as followed out of the big book - along with some other stuff related to the principles of these steps has left a strong sense of empowerment....and ability and or confidence to do the next right thing.
Honesty and acceptance.....principles of the first step.
Who of us has had the ability to be completely honest the first day of sobriety? Imo...none. It is progress, baby steps, and takes some longer than others to obtain a sufficent level of honesty to be navigated thru the rest of the steps but it is the most important for progress.
Emotional and Mental disorders.....I believe I've had an amble dose of that too. I guess I'm a lucky one. If there is such a thing as luck.
I found that many of my short-comings have been re-directed in ways that were creative and conducive to positive outcomes. Action, yes but with detachment...if that makes any sense, but honesty was first.
just my experience
