Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.
I have learned not to treat the holidays with any expectation. It may be pleasant and it may not be pleasant.
Today Easter doesn't mean much for me, but I do have nostalgia about the day, when I was young. On the day before Easter, the priest, with two alter boys, came to the house to bless the Easter meal and the house. Mum put the food on a special table in the living room. I can remember cooked ham, Easter eggs and sweet bread on the table. She prepared the vegetables the next day.
As I look back, I was surrounded by drunks when I was a child. No wonder I became an alcoholic. It was the normal thing to do.
Thanks for the reflections I can relate to those memories
Anyways, Easter was a little daunting for me too. Although no on was partying at my place, I am susceptible to the "happy hour" effect and felt in coming on. So I went to Easter Vigil which ended at 10pm and sufficiently exhausted me. I escaped unscathed this time.
