Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

So I started with a 1 week goal of sobriety. (Baby steps) It's almost like in making that goal I kindof freaked myself out. I didnt take the good advice getting the alcohol out of my house. I ended up drinking more than I have ever drank in a 24 hour period. I started at 3pm and stopped at 2am. I was yelling and crying and down right awful to my husband. I said things that were just vile at 2am. I thought I had hit rock bottom before but NO....This was rock bottom. I am not that person. I am a kind and warm person. Not this..When I woke up I was ready to give him the biggest apology of my life. After the things I said I couldnt imagine what would happen. When I saw him, He looked at me, Held out his arms and held me for a long long time. We talked about me getting sober and I told him I need him to be hard on me and do this together. If I ask him to get me something he needs to say no. Well last night was day 3 I was having a really hard time. It was 6:00 in the evening..I was getting stressed and thought , " Oh, I can just have a little." "Not as much as I had before." ( That is a common lie I tell myself.) I asked him to get something and he said, "No, Im not doing it." He came home.. I made dinner and went to bed sober. I have had night sweats and trouble sleeping but gosh waking up sober is such a gift. I changes my entire day. I hope I can continue this. I have a goal to get fit and healthy in time for my 10 year Anniversary next month. I want to be a new woman by then. That's what keeps me going. I have already picked out a dress I am going to buy if I hit my goal. I want to feel like a million bucks. I have also been working out the last couple of days. I am so sore! Change is happening though!! I jsut have to keep checking in here and reading all of your comments. I havent gotten a chance to reply to everyone but I really appreciate all of your support and comments! We are in this together!

Here’s what happened:How He Got SoberStruggles and Realization: Van Dyke began drinking as a teenager, largely to cope with shyness and social anxiety. Alcohol made him feel more comfortable in social settings, but over time, his drinking spiraled out of control. By his mid-40s, he recognized that he had an addictive...

One thing that helps me the most is staying busy. My mind tends to wander into the dark places when I'm not occupied with other things.
Every second counts, Congrats on day 4!
