Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

As most AA meetings across the country are shutting down temporarily due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a few members of our group would like to offer the temporary service of providing one-on-one support for anyone arriving at our site needing additional support. We are not trained professionals, but recovering alcoholics who have had first hand knowledge of addiction of the recovery process.
If you find you're in need of this support, please feel free to contact me or future volunteers through the DailyStrength text message option. Any discussion we have will be kept strictly confidential in keeping with the AA tradition.
Our one-on-one contacts will change periodically, but feel free to continue a dialogue with your original contact if so desired.
If you have any comments or questions, please let me know.

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

I was recently separated from my wife of 33 years and it's complicated. Anyway I rented a room about 15 minutes away and I see my kids about once a week. I see the people who own the house I live in once in a while but other than that I stay in my room where I do my cooking, wash dishes in the shower, read, color, and sleep. I get out at least once a day. I grocery shop and I attend 2 meetings...

I know when I first began to have a desire to quit wrecking my life with the bottle, I only wanted to talk in depth to one alcoholic who had been sober for awhile, just to find out how he did it so I would know what to expect. I didn't want any surprises because I was intensely fearful of the unknown.
I came here and made a friend of someone named Bill and we talked often through the DS messaging system but somehow Bill got lost during the migration... I miss Bill. He use to talk to me in metaphors and parables which took getting use to but when I read the acim book, I felt right at home because it was loaded with metaphors!
Both of you are great examples for others to follow.
God Bless
