Well, I did it, I didnt go out and drink tonight as I would of liked too and it feels pretty good....
Instead I took my nieces trick or treating, so that my sister could have a break...There where a pirate and a bum....they were so cute and it was lots of fun to see all the other kids too...
How was everyone else Holloween?

Glad you did not drink and took out you sisters kids....Sounds like it was fun....You should be proud of yourself....
Did not have a bunch of kids but some and they were all cute...the bumble bee was the cutest....
My first sober Halloween..whoooo hoooo to both of us!!!

I'll bet it was a real treat for your nieces. You thinking of their fun! Makes you feel good to do something for the ones you love and think of the special relationships you are building. REALLY COOL ASH!

Hi Ashley.My daughter is 15 now,so no trick-or-treaten for us,but I sure miss those days when she was little and I'd dress her up so cute that I could'nt stand it.I'd hug the cuteness right out of her while she was gobbling up her candy.Enjoy this time always.

I got to take my 8 year old son out trick or treatin' for the first time in 2 years. Last year his mom was witholding him from me being able to see him while we fought a long protracted and expensive (for me) custody battle. 2 years ago I sat in a treatment center with 7 days of sobriety wishing I could be trick or treating with my then lil pirate, but knowing we would both be better off in the end with me being there in rehab. Tomorrow I get to take him to his Phoenix Boys Choir practice, go eat with the guys in Crossroads and then go back and scoop him up an hour later after the choir is done with their practice singing. Then I get to take him with me out to the 41st annual round-up they are having at the treatment center I was at 2 years ago. They'll have lots of stuff for kids to do and I will get to reconnect with those who helped me to save my life. I am very grateful and I am thankful to God and to A.A. for helping me to become the type of parent I always wanted and who I always wanted to be, but never could because of my drinking, drugging and self-centeredness.

Indeed, it has been a very happy halloween.
