Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

Now that`s a long time to be happy joyous and free...
Congrats Gnon
I've learned a lot from you and appreciate your thoughtfulness in your responses.
Thanks for being here.
just keep the plug in the jug
It has been a pleasure and privilege to watch you grow, to see you work with so many people - many of whom no others would work with, because you are true to the Step 3 promise that you would bear witness - not about God of course (being an atheist) but you have found your own spirituality and have healped many especially on this board, to do the same.
I knew from the first time I met you that you would get sober, I could see and feel your desperation to recover. Even though I didn't see you for a while you were in my mind quite a lot of the time because I wondered how you were doing and then suddenly there you were, looking lost and saying 'Can I talk to you please?' That was the beginning of our relationship - first as sponsor and sponsee, then as friends, now as co-sponsors to each other and soulmates.
It has been so cool to share the things that we have - talked about God all night (literally), laughed ourselves stupid, spent the best time togther in NYC, took you to make that final amend that you said that you would never make, so that you could make it, seeing the change in you when you returned from doing it, sat together in my grief and stayed with me in it, had wonderful holidays together just chillin' and reading, the joy of getting our two girls (our cats) Mia and Phoebe, your joy at the birth of your nephew and mine at the birth of my grandaughter, you've been a sane voice for me when I didn't know what to do and I hope that I have returned that compliment. You truly are the most amazing woman and beautiful soul I have ever met.
I hope this doesn't read as cheesy because it isn't meant to be. It's really a picture of the kind of relatiosnhips we can build with people when we are sober - it's cool living with another sober person we don't let each other away with anything and I am so grateful for that.
Enjoy the day!!
Love Lyn x

You are often the voice of reason on this board and I appreciate your honesty when it comes to sharing your life. You're a rare breed of cat.
