Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

As the night progressed and my friends got drunker and I got soberer I began to feel like being around drunk people was getting a little weird, but luckily we decided to leave around midnight because my friend's husband was hungry. So they picked up some tacos to take home and then when we got to their place I bailed.
Now I'm curled up under a blanket at home with my face washed clean of Donald Trump bronzer. Feels like relaxation. except relaxation I'm not drinking during so that I can remember it and not do anything stupid.
Why drink if you are stoned?
This is like asking, if trying to lose weight "Any tips from going to a birthday party and not eating lots of cake and ice cream?".
Of course you probably won't eat cake and ice cream if you stuffed yourself with burgers, fries and a side of pizza before going to the party.
smh
Different paths, different paths. Alcohol and marijauna are very different. Marijauna I consume at home peacefully and don't get into trouble. My life was very chaotic back when I used to drink. A Halloween party in a sexy costume would certainly not land me back at home by 12:30 pm without any errors in judgement back in those days.
I was very glad I didn't drink at this party because as people got drunker I realize how gross it is. I like to remember my fun and stay cognizant throughout, not black out and lose control.
Oh well if you don't approve of my path, TexiCallie, but I can already tell i have different view then a lot of people on this board. I am here because I too have struggled with alcoholism. I had posted earlier tonight looking for advice as DanVA gave, using the support group for what it's for, not seeking recrimination and attack.
I too smoke a (very) little pot, but could not smoke before a party as I get too paranoid in crowds when I am stoned.
If you feel like you are missing out (envious) when others are getting drunk, you have to fix that perspective first. Otherwise, you are going to feel (and look) uncomfortable.
Went to a big costume party last night and had fun. Stayed about 3 hours. Ate too many sweets.
