Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

I said to a man who stood at the gate of the year:
Give me a light that I may tread safely into the unknown.
And he replied, Go out into the darkness and
put your hand in the hand of God. That shall be to you
better than a light and safer than a known way.
Quoted by King George VI of England
Two men were walking beside a river on their way to a town downstream when a storm broke, and a flash flood washed both men into the river. One man panicked, tried to fight his way back to shore, and drowned. The other man realized that the torrent was beyond his control and relaxed to the best of his ability, letting the river carry him. To his happy surprise, the river deposited him on the banks of the town he was headed toward, in a much shorter time than it would have taken him to walk.
When you come up against a situation you cannot control, trust that the universe is working on your behalf. When we fight what is, we lose our power. The sage capitalizes on the energy at hand and makes it work on his behalf.
Help me to remember that You are present in all situations,
guiding me home even when I cannot see how.
I am always in the presence of love.
Everything that happens to me is a part of
the plan for my good.

I had that happen almost to some degree...but it was hopping a train and I decided I did not want to go where it was about to take me so I jumped off....we were kids and thought we were cool to hop a train..I actually banged my knee getting on the train and decided I did not know where it would end...so off I went..but this guy Alen Cohen is pretty smart in my humble opinion

Oh God lol, you reminded me of when I did nearly drown in a rip when I was active in alcoholism. Scared and tried to swim back into shore. Stupid. Same has happened since I've been sober, and I did take the go with the flow option. Nice to have clarity of mind to make better choices. They don't say still waters run deep for no reason. Faith and works :}

coogie that is a rookie ocean swimmer mistake but I will put it on being drunk...perhaps that was why you fought the rip...rookies who do not know oceans have all kinds of problems...reef walkers ever happen around u? well I lost a person I knew to reef walking...she should not have been a rookie and I think it was the decision to end her life....that sent her out reef walking...some people say they find neat shells reef walking...nuttier people should know better...

I invited Bill to have dinner with me last Sunday. He wasn't willing to drive 7 hours to mid Michigan and teased me with his beautiful ribs!!! So, of course I ate alone and had cedar salmonĀ
