Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.
There is not a day that goes by that i am not grateful for that day, my God, my sobriety, my life, my children and everything in my life.
When i have a really bad day, I am still SOOOOOOO grateful as if I was dead I wouldn't have a chance to have a bad day!
I have a new job offer I'm excited about too! I have to thank AA for it as well. If I were still drinking, it just wouldn't be happening. I think I've stayed with the company I'm with so long is because it didn't interfere with my drinking or my hangovers. My boss is rarely ever here, so If I felt like shit, it didn't really matter. He's smelled beer on my breath before after lunch and he thought it was funny. I was mortified, but he thought it was funny.
Now that I'm sober, a whole world of opportunities is before me and I am truly grateful.
Today is my 41th B-Day, and My Mom said "Who would have thought you would have lived this long?" No kidding, everyone is amazed I'm still alive. Not only alive, but in great health! A Miracle. Most folks guess my age way lower as well.
This afternoon, while meditating/napping I had tears streaming down my face as I spoke to my HP. He and I have been through some tough stuff together, but He was always there for me. So many times the Spirit was with me, holding and comforting me.
So much to be Grateful for Today, so much, my eyes are filled with tears as I write this. Life holds Hope Today. Sobriety is my greatest gift, I had no idea how wonderful this was going to be, once I surrendered! Words don't suffice.
Indeed, I was once comfortable with the idea that I would be dead at 40
