Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

My AA Sponser use to tell me that good things always come out of bad situations even if we don't recognize it immediately.
A couple of examples occured recently. One of my customers insisted I ship his order by UPS. My company does not do business with UPS because I would have to pay them a pick up fee per package, so for this particular shipment, I would have to give the driver $6.44, when he arrived.
I bend over backwards to keep my customers happy so I agreed to do as the customer asked. I went online to the UPS websight to schedule a pick up for the following day. Right after I hit the submit button, a UPS truck pulled into my driveway with a package for me that I had ordered from amazon, several weeks ago. I met him at the door and asked him if he would take my package and he agreed, so I was never charged for the pickup. I was so happy! After he drove off, I went online and canceled the pickup for the following day.
Today, I had to run some errands. I went to the dump and did some other things and headed home. I was anxious to get home so I could get some work done so I drove faster then I normally drive. A cop pulled out of a driveway in front of me and went past me. I watched him in my rearview because I knew I was speeding, and I saw him turn around and head toward me. I saw his blue lights come on and thought for sure, I was going to get stopped, but there was a car behind me who was going as fast as I was so the cop could have ticketed either one of us but he stopped the car behind me! I was so relieved!
Things like that happen alot. Life is circular....A bad thing followed by a good thing. When I was drunk, I only remembered the bad things and not the good. Now, I am more aware and thankful for the bad things because they help me appreciate the good things that follow!
~~~Cheers!~~~
check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....
I was recently separated from my wife of 33 years and it's complicated. Anyway I rented a room about 15 minutes away and I see my kids about once a week. I see the people who own the house I live in once in a while but other than that I stay in my room where I do my cooking, wash dishes in the shower, read, color, and sleep. I get out at least once a day. I grocery shop and I attend 2 meetings...
I was walking on a windy day recently and a stick got caught in my boot lace and untied it. I stopped to deal with it and as soon as I started walking a huge branch crashed to the ground in front of me. I would have been right under it if I hadn’t stopped.... Lmk
When I was drinking, the hard times, led to more drinking and even more hard times, since becoming sober, I seem to have the ability to get through the rough times knowing they won't last & that sometimes things just happen, and that is okay !
~~~Peace~~~
Drink used to help me “deal” with a lot of discomfort and pain in the past and now I find myself working through those situations by pausing and trying to understand the conflict within me, doing my best to heal or at least acknowledge the situation. And I’m getting better at it, not perfect by any means. It’s like a muscle, when used, seems to get stronger.
So today I tend to see life less as black and white or good and bad. These are just the ups and downs of being human on this wonderful planet. I don’t even mind the occasional conflict to test my mettle. I’m sober now, I can take it.
I have learned also, that it's ok if I am not perfect. Thinking that I have to be perfect means I just found another opportunity for forgiveness! As long as we are human, we will make mistakes.
Thankyou for sharing!
God Bless
