Do you prefer best wishes? I'm not sure why 'good luck' would irk you but I usually say best wishes.

I do not use the word either~~ you are not alone. I think my 2nd or 3rd sponsor, trned me off to that word. No such thing as luck.

Guilty as charged. I went back through my comments and it was me who said "good Luck". Perhaps that isn't the best way to support someone who is reaching out for support. I definatly don't mean to offend.. Luck has nothing to do with it.. I get that. sorry.

I don't use it either BUT does it really matter?
Just because one uses a term whatever it is and you use another its just the way it is. We are all different and I choose to accept who and what people are and its none of my business what words they use.

i don't count time. i have today. that's it. when i'm lucky (or if)enough to have the next day, then tomorrow i say i have today. maybe sounding silly, but i have to keep it that simple. i've been blessed to have accumulated a few today's clean and sober, thanks to God, you all, my meetings and the other things i try to practice that help keep me sane and not wanting to pick up that next drink/drug.

I think the intent behind this is wishing you the best, it is just a way of telling you they care. Just like bless you is good manners in some circles, I really dont think people literally mean that they are afraid spirits are escaping your body. Just a figure of speech. I know I know, I have a brother who this irks too, I just think it is the intent behind it that counts. Good luck, errr, god bless, err, happy trails?

How about "break-a-leg?"

My favorite is someone trying to make a point and they use a word that does not even exists.
"Irregardless!" It is just regardless.....there is no IR. If you dont beleive me look it up. What?? it is not in the dictionary? Ain't that unpossible.
