Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

I cant explain it but Aa has saved my life. I initially went to just stay out of the bar but I met some ppl and now they are my friends.
Thing is, that drinking was , for me , just a way of coping with life. I thought all along that I was drinking to have fun but really I was unable to cope with life and would just ' bury my head in the sand' I now have learned a few things and can handle the curves life throws me with the tools that i have learned in the rooms.
Its magic but everytime I leave a mtg I feel better.
Catch the next one and get sober and happy

You were brave to step out of your comfort zone, it's something I have never regretted doing. All change can be uncomfortable at first but without change I stay stuck.
Let us know how you get on!

Too funny!! I was very proud of myself for making the attempt and approaching a complete stranger for direction. Pretty sure God just wants to see how committed I am to this journey :-)!!! I am not drinking, but I am not at peace with that. I just figured that it could not hurt to try another method. There is a beginner's group next Friday at 5:00. This means leaving work at my usual time, but instead of going home, going straight to this meeting. I will probably need to talk myself up again, but it worked last time!! I can be pretty bossy, even with myself :-)!
Good to watch that dialogue and observe without paying it much mind I think.
