Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

Hugs to you at this difficult time.
So sorry about your sister. I know being in that situation makes it very difficult to stay sober. When I was in the 90 day residential program, my dad was in bed full-time needing care around the clock. The caregivers were my siblings and I had tried to be shortly before going into the program. Then one weekend there was no one, for whatever reason, one being the main caregiver (my sister) ended up the hospital.
After much debate, they let me go for the weekend, saying if I was barred from the program when I returned the director would turn around and reinstate me.
There wasn't any problems coming back, but I really doubt I was of much use because I was so depressed. I didn't drink though. I think I was just too miserable to even drink!
Maybe this is one of those times of accepting what we cannot change. You are definitely in the right place for now and have the opportunity to learn to deal with times such as these.
Hugs, Deogee
