Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.
Lucky for me, all my sponsor asked me to do was work the steps.

As for drinking I did what it took to get rid of the grasping for a drink. I tried several groups. None worked. I went to a dharma group to study Buddhism. That worked for my alcoholism. I didn't go to the dharma group to learn how to stop drinking. It happened.
I like Billy's you tube. Waking up is irritating and painful. I have my sleeves rolled up and am formulating a plan for work. I'm paying attention to my feelings now and I know theower alcohol and the obsession holds. I feel like I'm ready now.
I agree with TexiCallie. Not having to hurt the ones I claimed to love more than anything. The 12 Steps were not easy and painful at times but nothing like the alcoholic loneliness and shame, guilt and remorse I was used to when I woke every single day. And relief came eventually. Most importantly, I no longer had the obsession with alcohol.
Lastly, my kids loved the people in AA for helping me become the mother my kids deserved all along. I loved them for introducing me to a spiritual path towards a life worth living.
