Lying is only hurting yourself. The great thing about this site is that it is anomous.
If u want to drink or do something, U will always find a reason or excuse...
U will be ok, U will know when your done. It is a feeling that u have inside. (At least for Me).

The little voice in our heads will always look for an excuse to drink again. The more you come to recognize it for what it is, the better prepared you will be to deal with it next time. So your slip is not a total loss providing you learn from it. Remember the the pain of this experience and use it as a deterrent.

Cudos for getting back on the horse and fessing up. It that takes a lot of doing. That's a big step

I know the site is anonymous and that it helps me so much - the temptation to lie here (when I know everyone supports me in these forums)...was to lie to myself, so I could pretend it did not happen... but you guys continue to inspire me and one of the biggest themes I see in success is finally stop the lies...especially the ones we tell ourselves.

As alway thanks to everyone for your support...this is a wonderful site, with so many wonderful people. So I raise a glass (of water) to you!

Relapse is a part of many people's journey so don't feel that you are alone on that one. And I totally get the temptation to lie. Whether the site is anonymous or not it's what we *do* as addicts. Lie to ourselves, lie to our kids, lie to our friends. The fact that you are so insightful about it, overrode the temptation to lie and admitted that you had a few drinks is actually amazing and to me, shows that you are going through YOUR recovery process. No two people's will look the same. This is just how you personally are travelling along the same road to sobriety as many others are. Same destination, different paths:)))

The better able you are to differentiate your voice from the alcoholic voice and then sooner, the less likely a relapse.
I often told myself aloud, "No. That is not my voice. That is the addiction talking--not me, and we ARE not one in the same."
Well done on accepting responsibility and owning up to it.

It's never hard to find an excuse to drink. Thankfully it's never hard to come up with good sound reasons not to drink, too.

No amount of excuses will outweigh any ONE reason not to drink.
