Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

It's funny, on occasion I've asked my husband to have a beer for the same reason - he honestly can take it or leave it and would rather eat his calories - I'll never understand.
I have talked a bit with my older son about my family's history of alcoholism and how, especially with this history, it is important to wait to drink until he's older as statistics show a higher chance of developing dependence the earlier you start. I hope I'm not giving him a complex.
When I quit this time (second and hopefully final) I decided that this was just not how it was going to go down for me. I have friends with alcoholic parents that are now older and sickly and that's just not what I want for me or for my kids.
