Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.
I tried cutting my amounts last year too, and it didn't work. I did not have a real change until I was sober for a period of time. That's only been for 6 months, but I see things much differently now - I think you'll see a big change too.
During your first few months, you may have to stay away from the parties. Just find something else to do - plan another activity for yourself. After you've been sober awhile, you find that it gets easier.
Please don't leave it to hoping, try taking some action and you will be amazed!
I hate to use slogans but at this stage this one is appropriate;
"Stay away from wet faces and wet places"
i had to drink because once i took a sip a voice in my head said MORE MORE MORE!
I had to drink to feel what i thought was normal
when i got some sober time before i didnt care if people knew i was a recovering alcoholic.
i've known people in sobriety that had their lives together better than some people who never touched a drink in their life.
your alcoholism will progress.
it did even faster for me because on top of having to try and drink away everything else i also had to try to drink away the fact i was an alcoholic lol.
I hope you stick around some!
