Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

i think drinking is the only thing that makes me feel alive anymore, good things happen when im drinking, when im sober i dont want to do anything...im sure this type of lifestyle will lead me into an early grave but idc at the moment, ive nothing going on in my life so f it, id rather be drunk and enjoy/feel something than be sober and stuck in a miserable existence, i guess you could say im an alcoholic, i had my first taste of beer when i was like 8 nd from then on its jus been a life of one addiction to another, alcohol, drugs, whatever suits my fancy for the time being....

Can you identify these rom-coms from just a screenshot from the middle of the films? This is a multiple choice quiz so even if you're not entirely sure you can always take a guess and at least have a 25% chance of getting it right anyway, so why not have a go?! https://www.buzzfeed.com/alysaurus688/rom-com-screenshot-trivia-quiz

Please come back when you are sober.
We will pray for you in the meantime.
God Bless!
If U R going to drink, then drink... But stop torturing yourself. Do what makes U happy.
From what U have wrote in previous posts, U R giving mixed messages, IMO...

The way you feel when you first get sober is not how you are going to feel for the rest of your life. You feel your feelings, share how you feel with someone, and then you feel better. I've been sober almost eight years now and it gets more interesting every day.
You are not alone. Hugs.
I hope you find some joy in life. I don't think you will find it at the bottom of a bottle.
If you don't care, as you've said, then enjoy it.
Personally I too started drinking and doing other stuff at a ridiculously young age. So change was hard as I had a life time of bad habits, disorders, etc. Now free of all of that I'm able to live a life that's unbelievably rich and fulfilling to me. The idea of an early grave has zero appeal as I see every minute as a gift.
I do remember when I didnt care either. That's 'cause I didnt know any better.
Please, share some of those "good things" that have happpened to you
I would like to know if I am perhaps missing something by being sober
Maybe you've found a better way to be intoxicated, please elaborate
And thank you for being bold enough to proclaim your independence
I'm going to take it hour by hour, minute by minute if i have to. It doesnt seem like the right time for me to stop drinking. I'm looking at harm minimisation strategies at the moment. We have to do what works for us. Drinking doesnt work for me right now but neither does sobriety. Its a shitty place to be but i'll find my way. So will you!
Funny- I didn't drink to feel alive; I drank so I didn't feel...
When I first had to contemplate the idea of living without alcohol, it depressed me because I missed those evenings and the "buzz" that accompanied. But I wasn't able to get the buzz anymore.
It was until I was able to open my mind enough to find fulfillment in other things; there is a great big world out there, with a lot of interesting stuff......and I had been missing all of it in my drunken stupor.
Start finding other things to fill your evenings, because I guarantee that what you're seeing as the benefits of drinking will not last. After that, it's pure slavery.
And reach out to other people. Drinking turns us "inward".
And drinking does give mixed messages. When you are sober you want to give up when you are drunk you want to stop.
Im guessing you are on here as you want to stop whyzac. One hour at a time.
