Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

What's your poison? How long have you been trying to go sober?

It's not the end of the world. Pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and try again! It's a bumpy ride trying to get sober. I had many false starts in the last two years, but after doing this to myself for 30 years, May 19 was the last straw for me. I HAD to get sober and found the determination to do it this time. You CAN do it! Find an AA group if that's what it takes. Don't give up. If you really want to get sober, you can do it!!! HUGS!!!
1is2 that is EXACTLY how I think, if I stop completely I will either have a grand mall seizure or heart attack and the thought terrifies me. Can I ask did you come off gradually with the help of a medical organisation/doctor to avoid this.
Thanx as always.

Well I went out the front door and was just too ashamed to go back home. I drove around all day and eventually looked up an AA mtg and went. I will never forget how close the chairs were and how I just sweated and shook. But I found hope.
I went every day and the first week was a beast. But it was like Star Wars and the Death Star. The farther I got away the less the pull was.
I picked up my four year chip last week. Yesterday I led a meeting. I know that this alcoholism that I have will take me back to 14 beers and a bottle if I have " one". So I just stay in motion
Fear was what kept me drinking, fear was the driving force in my life
Fk fear. I eat it for breakfast today and get it out of the way

Hang in there.
