I don't AA. I find listening to depressing stories at AA hard work. But that's just me. I love one to one support and internet support like this one. Glad to be here!

I obviously did not have the skills to live sober, it helped to learn some ideas and have a network to lean on. Admittedly I go much less than I should. 1-2

You can't learn what you don't know!

I'm into AA.
I love sketches dead parrot. The simple yet road blocked task. Here's one of my similar favorites, it's from Mr.Show. Ironically it's a man trying the make change (for a dollar), from a higher power (chain of supervisors).

It was like the Pet Store. I decided to change groups to see if i could get some help. I found the same people at both groups group. I finally realized that it wasn't the people. It was the program that wasn't a fit for me. So I did another Python thing.

"Now for something different"

I tried a secular group. Finally I did it on my own.

Chanford13 said that he had a hard time listening to the depressing stories. For me the past is the past. It cannot be undone. There is no sense in dwelling in the past. I am not the same person. I changed.

I got tired of the threats of jails, institutions or death, the idea of powerlessness and the "suggestion" to surrender my will and my life.
Haven't been to an AA meeting in over 5 years and "I'm not dead yet".
Hey I maybe crazy but the guys in the little white coats haven't come to take me away yet and I'm definitely not writing this from the other side.....wink, wink......
