Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

After being anti AA for years I have decided to give it a go. I am putting everything into it.
Today is my 10th day sober. No more cravings, which is amazing to me, and my head is clear and I have lost 5 pounds.
So far not much in way of withdrawals. I am constipated and extremely tired, but other than that ok.
Will be attending my 9th AA meeting tonight in last 10 days!!

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

I was recently separated from my wife of 33 years and it's complicated. Anyway I rented a room about 15 minutes away and I see my kids about once a week. I see the people who own the house I live in once in a while but other than that I stay in my room where I do my cooking, wash dishes in the shower, read, color, and sleep. I get out at least once a day. I grocery shop and I attend 2 meetings...

Congratulations on Day 10.....constipation is always an issue for me as well when getting sober. Try to eat oranges...they help me....and a coffee in the a.m. :)
Congratulations on Day 10
Interesting on the exhaustion. I noticed both you and Missy mentioned this in other posts. I had a lot of energy the first couple weeks and this week I'm noticing that I'm ready for bed around 7pm. I've had the constipation too. Seems to be evening out a bit now though.
I still have not tried AA. I've been tossing it around and have looked up the meetings in my area. Are you enjoying it?
It took me about a month to get a sponser and the wait was well worth it. Today I live my life by the 12 steps and I have never been happier!
Good luck on your journey through recovery!
God Bless!
fairygirl3 I am actually really enjoying AA. I really look forward to the meetings every day. I have found a group of people that I like sharing with and I can relate to.
I used to think the 12 steps were Hokus Pokus but now that I started working them I find them to be invaluable.
