Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

been sober for about 15 hours. I am scared and all I can think of is my little ritual of stopping and getting my four little bottles of wine. Im drinking some tea (herbal) here at work that is helping to calm me a bit. I am scared, ashamed and dk how to do this. Im a professional in a small area and don't want to attend aa. so I am hoping I can find support here:) need a hug and some encouragement.

I get out at least once a day. I grocery shop and I attend 2 meetings...

I am 36 days in and things are getting better. I have had some thoughts of drinking but would fight them off and the next day glad I did. Here is a journal entry I made after my first week of not drinking with some thoughts on why this time trying to quit is going better than many previous attempts. This group has played a big role, but I made a few other tweaks as well...

There are solutions if you go GET sober. The only wrong decision is no decision. I was frozen by fear and for this alcoholic the action was to put the booze away.
I in turn found a whole new world that was just waiting.

Second thing is.. find a meeting. Find lots of them.
There you will find people who have succeeded and can help be your support system.
I'd start with going to your doctor and telling him/her about it and ask for support.
