Day 9...wtf, can't believe it

Made it this far.....the good thing is I lost some weight and been exercising but honestly life seems pretty lame without a drink here and there...sat outside last night to relax with my husband and didn't drink but it was almost awkward.

I hgave lost 15 lbs since stopping in Jan. Changed nothing except no alcohol. I know things can seem boring, but more and more I am learning I can still have fun in groups. Even if lots of people are drinking. I think it takes time. For me there is a soicial anxiety part of it too. Drinking made me feel like that was better, but really I think it just masked it. Congrats on day 9

Yeah getting you guys, I had two small glasses of wine last night and it was boring - how sad is that!! It is Sunday afternoon here and I am away for the weekend with hubs - he has gone to the pub for a few and footie - I declined as I know I will start and not stop. So I am watching TV alone with a cuppa. God I hate this. I have also started dropping the pounds and it is all down to booze. You are not alone.

Drinking was , for me, like the death star in Star Wars. As long as it is close the tractor beam will be able to pull me into doom. Only when I put enough room between me and drinking , was I able to find that life is good sober. Drinking solved my problems and when I cut out the drinking , the problems were worse. It took weeding out my garden to be able to grow again.

Great job! It's always nice when your skin clears up and you lose some pounds! Keep going! Don't drink, the depression and everything else is not worth it'!

Keep it up!!! 9 days is great!!! I am sure you are starting to feel pretty good now physically. Clear head in the morning, more energy. Sober life has been great for me so far. I'm not going back to the dark times. I like this brightness so much more. Best wishes to you. Be strong!!!!!!

Congrats on 9 days!! Hey and ya can't go wrong with losing a few pounds :) keep your head up, I am sure the awkwardness goes away.
