Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

I felt tired for awhile. Alcohol IS sugar so you are not getting the same constant drip of carbs. Gatorade and a good chocolate shake at witching hour saved me
So what’s the plan to get sober?

So glad I don't drink that poison anymore. It use to control me but not anymore.
God Bless
Walking every day is what helped bring the energy back and gradually let me slow down the chaotic thinking habit I had developed.
Look up symptoms of DT and be aware if they increase. The danger can be as long as two weeks. Serious tremors, dizziness etc. I know that some people should see their doctor for a check up and honest conversation about alcohol use. I was drinking 2-3 cups of whiskey a day when I quit cold but I was in fair condition considering. I just winged it and felt better in a few weeks. After a month I was exercising and improving my diet. Lots of water.
When I was in India I was drinking filtered water for a month and was always thirsty. Turns out I was filtering out all the essential minerals so I started adding drops and that made all the difference. Coconut water is very good for this also.
I suggest a protein shake and multi vitamins daily.
1is2 brought up a good point about a plan and we can all give you thoughts on what works for us. Stay in touch.
When I quit I didn’t know anything about sobriety. Just that I knew I couldn’t drink anymore. After a few months and a lot of reading about Buddhism I began to see that not drinking is abstinence, committing to not drinking while looking inward to learn more about myself is sobriety.
There are many paths to self awareness and they all get us to the same place. One where we find that we’re going to be ok and there is a world where can be patient and gentle with ourselves.
