Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

I did it I did not have alcohol last yesterday. Jeez it was really hard. I flew past the aisle in the store that sells that rancid stuff. I guy walked out of the aisle with the biggest and cheapest bottle of cider ever. He had a red blotchy face with the glazed eyes, he had his wife with him, she looked so healthy. I wondered what she would be doing while he was sitting there pissed :(
I once got told that the craving ONLY lasts 10 mins. To me it felt like 10 hours, I was pacing, thinking go on one won't hurt...but I declined. I ate lots of sweet things and kept busy. I even got offered 2 glasses of wine from different friends. They can have 1 glass and that be it, but not for me. Once I have 1 I get on this roller coaster that does not stop. I wonder if I will get that point were I can just have 1?
I slept really well last night and woke up bright and refreshed today. However, I am dreading the weekend. All the opportunities are there for me to drink, we have a great weekend planned. I am going to need rock solid will power.
I keep finding things that I must have put away when I was drunk. Things LOOK different. I am facing the day sober and with no hang over, it feels really strange yet fantastic!!!

I accidentally deleted a journal entry that I wish I hadn't. Is there any way to get it back?

Instead of going to work I slept in until 11 am Now I'm treating myself at McAllister's to a Spud Max. When I go back tomorrow it will be Friday!

Start focusing on detox if you can, you've started by not drinking so now put that power into a healthy diet for 21 days or so. It will give you a goal and something to keep your mind on.
Good luck, and remember the weekend is only 48 hours, you've been sober longer then that. Stay strong.
One day at a time!
Good Luck and God Bless!
What you call cravings, I think is what I know as obsession. For me it is the obsession about drinking that can drive me to the first drink. And for me that could last weeks white knuckling or giving into the obsession and picking up the first one. The one that turned into another lost battle for me.
Wishing you well G8
I couldn't rack up 3 days for 10 yrs. My first hero was a woman who got her 30 day chip.
It's monumental that you have 4 days. Keep up the momentum. You can do this! Hugs, Dianna
A good refreshing drink to have during the summer is called an Arnold Palmer. I honestly don't know if this was initially a alcohol-laced drink, but the most current recipes just include half and half iced tea and lemonade. I use a lemon-ginger green tea.
You know...the healthy green tea cancels out all of the sugar in the lemonade!
Good luck!
