I came to a realization last night. I avoided the stop at the cstore and had a good cry and had this thought. ive spent my life being angry at my mom for all the things that I perceived she did wrong. I have never given her credit for all she did right. she was camp fire girl leader, a stay at home mom, home cooked meals all three of them each day, had a beautiful flower garden, loves cats, loves animals, collects bells, hauled me all over the state to compete in rodeos. dressed my sister and I very cute, made our clothes.

so im refocusing on loving my mom. ive finished the projects in my house so now im going to do a memory book for my mom and give it to her. when she passes ill have it for my sister and our children.

grateful to be sober today.

I had tears when I read this post because I was too young, immature, selffish and angry to tell my own mom how much I appreciated her. I think it is great what you are doing. I think it's awesome that you changed your perception before it was too late to show and to tell your own mom how much she means to you.

Life is all about learning and about changing the way we look at things. It's all about loving and forgiving and I really believe good things happen out of bad situations, but I didn't know these things until after I stopped drinking and drugging.

You are truly amazing. This is a wonderful development and I'm so happy for you. I remember hearing that where anger occupies your heart, love can not enter. As soon as you began focussing on loving your mother for who she was, the anger subsided.

    check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

     I was recently separated from my wife of 33 years and it's complicated. Anyway I rented a room about 15 minutes away and I see my kids about once a week. I see the people who own the house I live in once in a while but other than that I stay in my room where I do my cooking, wash dishes in the shower, read, color, and sleep. I get out at least once a day. I grocery shop and I attend 2 meetings...
