Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

Welcome back.
Your journey is different to mine and touch wood, up until tonight at least, I have not experienced the pain of relapse. However, regardless of whether someone relapses or not, I think that the same solution will work. Maintaining sobriety on an ongoing basis while dealing with all of the difficulties that life can throw up is easier done if you have good contact with the spiritual side of life.
There are probably different paths to spirituality but like many people I have found one suggested by Alcoholics Anonymous to be effective. It has been found that when all else fails, a spiritual approach can yield remarkable results. Therefore, all I can tell you is that, based on my own experience, the Twelve Step programme of Alcoholics Anonymous, undertaken under the guidance of a good sponsor will give you a good chance of long term sobriety. There are of course some issues that require professional help but there is no reason why steps and counselling would not naturally complement each other.
Therefore, I would say that if what you have been doing up until now is not working, why not consider other options.
It's very possible but you gotta get busy. Figure out a program and go get sober
