Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

I could not have done it alone. Why not go to that meeting next week and pick up a 30 day chip. Aa is only what you want it to be. I see it as just a bunch of drunks on the bus. I quit for 2 yrs in 05 and went two only 2 meetings. This time I have like 90 in 120 and I am enjoying life. Quitting drinking and getting sober are different.
Why not use all the tools in the shed to help make for less work??
Good luck. What night is the mtg. Because as you found this site with it's anonymous help is good. Just imagine if you could call somebody... Go get a coffee with somebody who has been exactly where you are...

I really like what 1is2many said. Good solid experience.
Keep the momentum going!
As for the topsy turvy feelings....I'm learning this is life on lifes terms. Its emotional, its messy and its all new to me as a sober adult.
I asked my AA sponsor about 3 months in...a similar question.
I said I'm feeling bored, I'm angry, I'm exhausted, what is this? And she said....maybe you are just bored, angry and exhausted? These are all normal "states" of being for us human beings in the world. I just used to drink over and through these feelings...so i didnt feel them.
My suggestion? Go to that one meeting a week. People there will understand, they'll help remind you that its a day at a time, that sobriety comes first, etc.
I was dry for 90 days with this forum. But as much as I love the forum, and found my way *to* aa thanks to the good people here, its no substitute for a program in 'real' life..imo.
Journaling, reading, volunteering, re-connecting with God and all His creation, and catching up on lots of things that I've let go are so much an enjoyable part of my life now, rather than something keeping me from drinking that I really have no desire to drink.
Thank you all again. God Bless
