Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

You can do this!
Im reading a book at the moment and it describes the way in which different people view problems. When a poor or middle class person like me encounters a problem we tend to get annoyed, react wrongly and it all ends in failure. When rich people meet a problem they look at how they can turn it around to their advantage. In that way the rich guy often makes money when the markets are falling and everyone else is losing out.
Maybe you can look in a different way at the fact that you cant drink and turn it to your advantage. For instance, do you really have to be around people who are drinking? Could you go with someone to a show or to the cinema instead? What if you told some people the truth about why you dont drink would that be such a big disaster? What if you took the lead and suggested some other activity that did not involve drinking? There are many possibilities. You could also go to an AA meeting during a stop-over.
I sometimes encounter a flock of sheep on the road and they are interesting animals. One sheep will cross the road in front of traffic and all of the rest will follow. Sometimes as people we act like sheep and we do the wrong thing just because everyone else is doing it. Going against the crowd and doing what you know is right requires courage.
Oh, and one more thing. This is very hard to take on board but once you do you will experience great freedom: What other people think about you is their business, not yours.
