As recovering people, were getting stronger each day. We go to meetings to learn how to be better people. But we also go to remind ourselves of the beast inside us- our addiction. This beast is waiting for us to slip-to go back to our addiction so it can regain control.
Thus its wise to learn all we can about our disease. Thats why its important to do a good job on our Fourth Step. When we work Step Four, we learn how our addiction acts thinks and feels. With the help of our program, we can quite the beast, One Day at a Time.

I have found by embracing my addiction also my fears ungrounded or normal they have less or no power over me.
Where it talks about the beast inside me I can also relate that to the Jeckle & Hyde personality I had, people would say he is a great person husband father worker until he takes a drink then the change from the person people like to the person no-one wants to know..
I say had because as long as I dont drink alcohol it has been dormant except when in those early days of recovery when I had to fight with every tissue of strength I had to stay in reality.
Because I hung in there and took a few blows leant from them and moved on. I am winning today and my life is free.
Trying to keep it as sort as I can ..
