My parents were drunks----who looked down on drug users.
Of course, its very 1960s hippyish to compare the two, were enough movies and tv shows even into the 1970s, when i was a stone cold sober teen, though i was too mentally beaten at school and by my parents to let it sink into my head when i started drinking at legal age 21, and then smoking grass at 22.
My worthless dad made a good living at bethlem steel, never missed a day of work----but he blew most of his check at bar, TWELVE HOURS EVERY SATURDAY.
Maybe my worthless dad also gambled away his money, or went to bordellos, since he came home around 3 in morning pretty sober, my evil mom once told me she found a woman on his lap in a bar, and of course, my evil mom would be the cliche of looking out the window waiting for my worhtless dad to come home at 3 in morning.
My evil mom would sit home and get drunk, by herself, and throw up in the sink in the half bathroom adjacent to the living room, with me having to walk out the room, cause she was too much of a pig to close the bathroom door.
My evil, drunken, mom was also too much of a pig to wash her feet, after she would be the one figuring out how the coal furnace worked. "Look at those dirty feet" my worthelss dad would say. My evil mom slept on the sofa, and my worthless dad in their bed. But, i was thinking how an ex-friend said how a then-crack ho we knew showed up at his place looking for drugs, with him remembering how her feet were all dirty.

AND....too many people are afraid to badmouth their parents, when MOST of their problems really do come from their parents.

i keep on hoping if i post all this stuff i never told anybody that i will get it out my system.
right now my apt a mess, i'm a mess, from friday putting my cat to sleep----last family member i have (my other cat just not the same)
i have lots of photos of my cats----threw away all photos of my parents years ago....to try to forget them, even then.
