This reminds me that when I am thinking of other people, it is usually to judge or criticise them, or try to figure them out so I can manipulate them - and I have no business doing that.

You should read Toltec... (a dear DS friend bought me a copy) he gives is four rules for a peace filled life.. 2 of which sprung to mind when I read your post.. "take nothing personally" and of particular relevance " be impeccable with your word" .. I fail regulaly but at least I see my "wrongs now"

It's great you have this awareness about yourself. Most alcoholics have to find that place to change to remain sober. YOU are just fine where you are. Trying to "figure" someone out is a non-issue and it's hurtful to them and you.. We have to concentrate on our selves and our own program of recovery. Taking a step back and regrouping so you can be with your own place of understanding yourself and where you are with recovery is the best and kindness place to be with you and others.. Relaxing with others who may trip you up, will always serve you and them.
