Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

First of all the thing was I was actually doing things again. I was having tea, and working in the kitchen, walking around, instead of easychair, fridge, bathroom. It was a time when I would hit the wall a few times and when I sobered up I was looking way ahead and not at my feet.
It gets better. As I reaquainted with my body and actions I found harmony again.
Thanks for the memories and keep going. It gets better.

I think what 1-2 said sounds about right, though. You walk around numb for so long that when you get sober you have to reacquaint yourself with the mind-body connection. Sort of like getting your land legs after being at sea for a period of time.
You are doing great, Mags. Hang in there:)

I have much less mishaps and accidents these days but could still be just as awkward when I first stopped drinking...without anaesthetic :)
From time to time I still find myself distracted and symptoms might be biting my tongue again or otherwise being unaware...good to get some Headspace and become aware of the differences

To answer the question, I FELT more clumsy at first, true or not a lot of it would have been newfound sober Awareness...with a little more time clumsy phases are mostly the exception instead of the norm...but still they're ok...I'm Human not a robot or wooden puppet :)

I remember the fog lasting a few weeks before lasting clarity finally arrived. It was worth the wait...
