Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. Sometimes I am not sure what this means.
Sometimes it is clear as a bell.
Today is one of those days where it is clear.
I have to remove any and all obstacles that stand between me and the Infinite Grace that gives me the power to stay away from a drink today.
After indulging in a period of willful carelessness, it is time for me to humbly come back to the source ... admit the wrong that I have done, make restitution where possible and attempt to clear the channel between me and a Higher Power -- a channel that has become clogged with the stuff of self will.
In this particular case I did harm to my marriage by getting way too cozy with an online "friendship" ... I am wandering if I need to simply stop using DS or just stick with the guys, as in AA.
It is no one in this forum ... at least I have the sense to not crap where I eat ..... :/

thanx for thinking out loud. (lol)
What I mean is that one of us sobersides can say something in an AA meeting and the only way the newcomer who gets pissed off by it can retaliate is to holler over the laughter that fills the room. But there's no such social inhibition on a web forum, and for me that has taken some getting used to.
There are people who post here who remind me every day what living with untreated alcoholism is really like, and I'm sure they'd be deeply insulted if they knew how much this acting-out has helped me to stick to basics and keep minding my own business.
