i with thousands of others in the UK have been following the story of aLady called Racheal On Radio 5 live She came on the radio programme 3 years ago whilst drinking and just about to go in detox She explained she was a consultant anethatist but was on suspension from work
she agreed to come back on the show later in that year to say how she was progressing.Since that first time there have been 2or3 updates from Racheal The most recent being about March this year She sounded well and had been sober for about a year and had been allowed to return to work as a junior doctor in another dept.during all these interviews Racheal was open and about her involvement with AA Many people came on and spoke how she had inspired them to seek there own recovery Even though she was always honest about her relapses.the programme host has bee very proactive in suggesting to callers to call The AA phonelineGiving the number out repeatedly.
so the latest update was a shock to hear Racheal had relapsed at easter then stopped drinking but died in her sleep.the thing is people are still being inspired by her struggle despite the fact that she died
Which is my main point would it be better for more of us to come out re our anonymity even if we don't make it maybe we have still carried the message

Thank God for those who got un der my skin and in my head that has led for me a more a than veneer depth of what a message is....(or recovery entails) Alcohol was only a symbol.
My first best friend sober was Al G. a lovely man...he got in a boat in Florida one night drunk and pulled the tarp back over the boat and suffocated the next day in the heat that build up when the sun came out...that led me to believe how fragile life can be while under the influence:(
