Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

I went through the VA program three times. The first time, 30 days. The second time, maybe two weeks before I skipped. The third time, I went into the program for 30 days, then residential recovery for 90 days.
Oh yes, I forgot - I went to another VA domiciliary in another state which was supposed to last, I guess, as long as it took. They kicked me out because they said my urine showed benzodiazepines. Which was totally false. It had been months since I had taken any benzos and if they were still in my system, it was because that was VA's way of detoxing at the time. Ten mg of valium every hour until I feel asleep. Oh well, that's another story.
I do know what you mean though. Most VA counselors don't give a damn. They are totally bored, and counting down the days when they can retire. They have lost the mission and to them, it's just a job.
