Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

This site also helped me to get to my goal!

Why? Because I'm always thinking about it, trying to figure out ways to control it, thinking I have it under control, and then boom! I realize I did not.
I've spent my life trying to control alcohol. Yes, I can do it sometimes - one or two drinks, years without alcohol, etc., but eventually it would always creep up on me and I would be starting all over again.
I'm still working on the moderation thing myself. But in my heart I know that if history repeats itself, it's not going to happen. It never has. I just keep hoping.
I never EVER just wanted one. I wanted oblivion.
I drank alcoholicly I am an alcoholic.

I never seriously tried moderating my drinking. Now I am happy not drinking at all so it is not something I will ever need to try.
This would be a mental torment for me if I still wanted to drink.
I would like to add, alcohol is no longer appealing or tempting to me.
I view it as drinking Liquid Draino, which I would never consume.
At least I am completely over drinking first thing in the morning - as an "eye opener" if you will. That was stupid beyond belief - and yet I did it. And now I don't. I am not proud of that time in my life. And very few people know about it.
I can definitely see how "none" is easier than "some" for people.
Just my most recent thoughts.
I always related to the idea of the 'Illusion of control'...goalposts moved often and through necessity...

Where if I don't have it all...it becomes less and less of a thought.
