Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

After going 78 days without a drink and have a lapse when I was away on my job with other crew I ended up drinking with them and then drinking a whole lot more once we were back in our hotel rooms so noone would know.
Unfortunately my job involves going on night stops to alot of places and one of the ppopular things to do is go to the pubs and drink. I dont know how to go about it really, I didnt even want to drink when I lapsed I just wanted one like everyone else so I didnt seem like some boring new guy - which I think happened anyway as I was to focused on that the first days of drinking again.
Does anyone have advice on how to go about this? I guess I should have just said I'll have a coke or orange juice but for that moment I didnt want to be the only one not drinking:/

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

I was recently separated from my wife of 33 years and it's complicated. Anyway I rented a room about 15 minutes away and I see my kids about once a week. I see the people who own the house I live in once in a while but other than that I stay in my room where I do my cooking, wash dishes in the shower, read, color, and sleep. I get out at least once a day. I grocery shop and I attend 2 meetings...

Good Luck!

I had to visualize myself going home or the hotel room, sober. I had to have an exit plan so to speak. I put my sobriety first. I'd go to the events or dinners and I'd order food and diet coke or tea. If I felt I might drink, I knew I'd leave. I on,y had to once.
I told people I wasn't drinking, now I say I don't drink.
People almost never ask after that. Turns out I thought of wayyyy more than anyone else!
