Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

I drank yesterday and again 3 days ago. I can't seem to cope with life sober. My friend ditched me due to my new boyfriend. I don't know what is triggering me except general anxiety and stress. I seem to be so angry when I'm not drinking and need it to calm down. I'm on Campral which really lessens the cravings but not the emotional turmoil. I saw my psychiatrist yesterday morning and he wanted to know what I was so anxious about. I don't even know myself. I know if I keep drinking it will be coffin time. I can't go to AA because I've lost my driving glasses and can't drive at night. This is the only place where I can ask for help.

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

I was recently separated from my wife of 33 years and it's complicated. Anyway I rented a room about 15 minutes away and I see my kids about once a week. I see the people who own the house I live in once in a while but other than that I stay in my room where I do my cooking, wash dishes in the shower, read, color, and sleep. I get out at least once a day. I grocery shop and I attend 2 meetings...

Like you, I had no idea what was triggering me. When I went through intake, at the hospital's alcohol and and substance abuse program, I was asked hundreds of questions through which those counselors knew more about me then I knew about myself so I was treated for those underlying problems that triggered my drinking. Once those demons were exorcised from me with therapy, the rest was a piece of cake!
So it sounds like you are faced with a life or death decision. Do you try something different or do you continue to stay on that same train that is guaranteed to crash when it reaches the end of the line!
I will pray for you, my friend!
God Bless!
Don't give up on yourself! You are worthy of love and acceptance.
They do have AA meetings during the day and online if that is an option you want to explore.
Sorry to hear that you are struggling.......
Huge hugs
Get some new glasses and get into action. I was always a victim of this and that and never took responsibility until I learned a bunch of reasons why and how to not drink in AA. It saved me from coffin time

You can attend AA til the cows come home but until you address those issues you are always going to struggle with some type of addictive behaviour to cope. If a person happens to find that through AA, good for them. Didn't work for me - I had to attend personal counselling and deal with the anxiety and depression.
Each person finds help through different venues. If you can call your local AA office and let them know your situation. Maybe they would have an option or a closer meeting that doesn't require you to drive there.
In the mean time keep checking back in every day. I'm praying for you and will be looking forward to hearing from you again.
We have all been where your at. At we feel the pain your feeling. We will be there for you. We are all in this together.
God bless
Gentle hugs

I was digesting myself and the only way to stop was to quit drinking
