Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.
Flow is so important, Someone in AA told me that life runs like a river, it moves around and over obstacles but if it is stopped it stagnates and so we must move on and carry on. Love that.
I also appreciate the weighing of what people say. If good and truth can be found in it then it is worth heeding but just as some messages are good, those of little or no use can be discarded.
The interesting thing is that often complaints are people reflecting their own disquiet onto another thing or person. It's always been easier to blame others than reflect on the truth of an individual's own actions. No wonder the spiritual path can be tough going at times but rightly followed spiritual principles always bring about the best outcome with peace and serenity.
Like you, I had to cut some associations that might have affected my progress adversely, sometimes it is just as simple and necessary as that. Everyone is capable of walking away. The Serenity Prayer is always applicable!
Thank you for your post.
My best friend of 40 yrs really hurt me over the summer....at first I felt bad cuz she made sense, then I got mad cuz she has no clue....now I am just gonna leave it alone.
I will eventually tell her how I feel but only if she asks...I don't feel like I have to prove myself to anyone other than me and my higher power.
