Forget the particulars of my last thread. Why are differences of opinion and a little contoversy so threatening to so many on the board? Back when I was drinking I had three choices
1) I could honestly agree with you
2) I could play chamelion and pretend to agree with you
3) I could disagree only in emotional outburst. or anger.
But today I have another choice. I can speak my opinion and disagree with yours without disrespecting you. that is a gift I intend to continue to use in my life.

I honestly don't think at all that differences in opinion or controversy had anything to do with that damn thread. When the two started talking personally to each other back & forth & making personal accusations on a public forum, it became a thread which served no one on this board or helped no one with getting sober.
If that thread was the 1st thread I read upon joining, I'd say "WTF?" and would be long gone. People join this forum for support with alcoholism not to read a personal back & forth dialogue between a 22 year old and a 40something year old! Jeez! That stuff should have been taken private long before it was even closed in my opinion.

I guess that isn't related to alcoholism. Maybe the thread title should have been prefixed with OT.
But i guess i get it some don't feel that sober alcoholics can have healthy disagreements.
